About Us Creature Comforts was established in 1993 by three friends: Nancy Davis, Sherry Hickman, and Cathy Nelson. They were all involved in dog sports and training, and they wanted to create a facility that would meet three basic needs of pet owners: quality boarding, all-breed grooming, and pet manners training. The search for a site began. While looking for a location with enough space to meet their goals, they found that the old Junaluska Baptist Church site was for sale. It was there that their idea went from a dream to reality and Creature Today Creature Comforts is still owned by Nancy and Sherry. When they are not grooming, teaching training classes, or helping the staff to care for their guests, Sherry and Nancy enjoy spending time with their families and training and showing their own dogs. Nancy also enjoys traveling to judge agility and rally at AKC events across the country.
